Sweeney Todd

The Best Movie Of The Year...Tim Burton and Johnny Depp deliver, plus the supporting cast is awesome, Helena Bonham Carter, Timothy Spall, Alan Rickman, and even the brief appearance by Sasha Baron Cohen are all welcomed...Tim Burton has truely outdone himself...

A Year Older, and Not Much Wiser

Ok so I'm finally 21 and I feel the same...although I've been cutting things out of my life...I've discovered a kinship in the boozy alcoholic antics of Amy Winehouse, I think Back to Black is the best album of 2007...I'm listening to it from beginning to end and it's really good.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day!!!

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up King and Parliament.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!
A penny loaf to feed the Pope
A farthing o' cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down.
A faggot of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar.
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head.
Then we'll say ol' Pope is dead.
Hip hip hoorah!
Hip hip hoorah hoorah!

My Novel Attempt

I have a really good Idea, since I want to be published, but not like a Blog publishing...I'm taking about 200 of past things I've written...it's just a test to see what people think, I will only make 5 copies...3 will be distributed to myself, Army and Alex, 1 in a coffee shop in Hollywood, and the final 1 to the first stranger who shows interest in it (or it wight just go to another friend)...I'll keep you poster.
*UPDATE*
New Page count it about half as previously stated, somethings I need to keep for future reference and other need to be locked away until I am certain I can release them in confidence with evidence and facts...

Disappointment Part Deux

My list of badass chicks on:

1. Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow (Alias)

Why? Because not only did she bring sexy back to spi-fi, she also single handedly transported me from watching the network formally known as the WB. On a more ass-kickery note she rocked the shit out of the Pilot Episode and also “The Telling”…kudos to you Sydney Bristow.

2. Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Why? Simply because the fact that Buffy reinvented the concept of women’s roles on Primetime Television…so all those other chicks out there that are kicking ass and taking names on primetime action series should all be name checking Buffy.

3. Eliza Dushku as Faith Lehane (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Why? Because she represented the dark and twisted side of the Buffyverse, gone where the episodes of just good and evil, she added the element of twistedness to a show that desperately needed it.

4. Evangeline Lilly as Kate Austin (Lost)

Why? Do I really need to say it, anyone who watches Lost knows why she’s the most bad ass chick on the show.

5. Michelle Rodriguez as Ana Lucia Cortez (Lost)

Why? On her first outing she shamelessly flirted with Jack (played by Mathew Fox)…She imprisoned one guy thinking him to be an Other, and killed another guy just days later…do you really need anymore details…and the surprisingly sexy Michelle Rodriguez rocks the socks off of her tough chick characters.

6. Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Batman Returns)

Why? I don’t even need to say anything and you’ll all know why she was so perfect and so deliciously bad…

7. Tricia Helfer as Number Six (Battlestar Galactica)

Why? Never has a character stole my heart and captivated me. More in tune with herself than Starbuck and much more sexy than anyone on the entire show. I give my hat to Number Six and wish her well in all her twisted conquests.

Disappointment

Ok, so I went on EW.com and to my amusement they added another one of there infamous lists and to my surprise Buffy Summers, Faith and Sydney Bristow weren’t on there tough chick list, so I took the liberty of posting a comment on there:
Michael Wed, Oct 17, 2007 at 02:09 PM EST
First off I can't believe Buffy nor Faith made the list...they kick more a** then that lame chick from Bionic Woman...also I can't believe Sydney Bristow didn't make the list, was I the only one who saw the pilot episode, or for that matter The Telling (one of the best episodes of Alias)...EW you have disappointed me.

…I’m so angry because if anyone should have made the list it should have been them…They’re like the most awesome of badass chicks, so I’m going to make my list and briefly describe what makes them badass chicks… *More Coming Soon*

Single and Free????

I suppose it would be nice to celebrate newfound freedom, but I' not exactly sure if I'm free...so instead of contemplating things that I don’t give a damn about right now I’ll just stick with my thoughts of freedom. Now I’m listening to M.I.A., who’s last CD Kala just gets better and better on every listen. I’ve also decided to try this Flash Fiction Challenge I know it sounds weird but I’m gonna try it out today since it’s not for two days I’ll start first thing in the morning…there’s also a screenwriting contest, but I’ll take one at a time…also if you don’t have Kala I recommend you checking it out, it’ so awesome, one of the best and most original CDs of the year…

The Fall of an Over-Hyped TV Show.

I just want this to be known, I love Grey's Anatomy. I thinks it's a really good show, and I watch it until it Jumps the Shark or gets canceled. But Private Practice is another entity all together, since it pretty much sucks and is filling the vacant slot the once housed Lost, I watch it. But not anymore, I'll be tuning into Gossip Girl, it's smart, entertaining, and is about teenagers acting like teenagers (as opposed to Private Practice's adults acting like teenagers acting like adults).
See I'm not the only one who despises Private Practice. So I just want to wish the show-runners well and they need to focus more on story and less on this is Kate Walsh's show where she get's to grow up, but not really grows up, and acts worst than she did on Grey's...please bring back the Addison we loved from Grey's not this lame one...

A Better Version of Sweeney Todd

I'm sick of Megan Fox

She is not hot...she is not Angelina Jolie... she cannot act... and I wish people would stop talking about her.

South Park

Private Practice

Private Practice
Still no good...I have to admit I missed the antics of the Grey's Cast, Kate Walsh doesn't ooze confidence like her bitchy entrance into Grey's Anatomy way back when '...and you must be the intern who's sleeping with my husband' best line ever for a new character...on Practice she leaves behind her confidence just to make doll eyes for hunky doctors and to be quite honest I'm no longer watching, I'd rather watch the kick ass attitude of Gossip Girl then watch this mediocre melodramatic primetime soap-opera...

The Sarah Silverman Program
OK, so where do we start, abortion is not funny but Sarah Silverman is a goddess . I laughed, I was disgusted and I enjoyed myself... The Sarah Silverman Program takes the good pseudo -sensibility of South Park the machoism of the Chappelle's Show and rolls it into a nice little package dressed as an attractive and hilarious Jewish girl with a foul mouth...can I say the best show ever...hurry up and give her an Emmy or Golden Globe and whatever other awards she deserves...

South Park
All I can say is I love this show and I hope it's on forever...I don't really need to go into details, I only need to say that Matt Stone and Trey Parker are gods...

My New Love...

Pushing Daisies
How great was ABC's Pushing Daisies, let just say of all the new shows this fall it's by far my favorite, in fact it was even better than Private Practice (which turned into a snooze fest, thankfully the new South Park and Sarah Silverman Program were awesome)...but ...Daisies was so awesome. It was like someone ripped off Tim Burton and Brad Silberling (who ripped off Tim Burton) and then had a love child, and that child is the aforementioned show...I hope to God that ABC doesn't cancel this show, if anything cancel Private Practice...or I'll start a protest by sending millions of Daisies to Disney Studios in Burbank...

This is why we love Trent

'Not the parts that Atticus did. I know where a lot of his lyrics came from, because he didn't write them. When the day comes that I have to hire the flavor of the day to write my records for me so I can sound like what my records used to sound like so I can make money... stick a fork in me... honestly... and that's... I don't mean to sound like I'm on a high horse here but when it gets to that state, that's absolutely not what I'm about. From principle. I'll walk the highway before I start doing that shit, because music means a lot to me, and the reason for doing it means a lot to me, and whether you like NIN or not, or you hate this record or loved that record, I can assure you that I did it for the right reasons: I did it because it means more to me than anything else in my life. And I'll never put making money ahead of that. More than any other thing ever, I can sleep well at night – when I can sleep – knowing that I always kept that pure. My life I fucked up, my friendships and relationships I fucked up, my health I’ve fucked up, but I never wanted to abuse music like that. Does that answer your question?'

NBC Fall TV

Heroes
How great was the season premiere. I loved that we learned about most character and I loved that we only had skipped 4 months into the future and we are learning about everyone, what I didn't like was the introduction of the new characters (think Nikki & Paolo of Lost), I hated that we didn't see Mika or D.L. although we did see a glimpse of Niki in the opening monologue, this is one of my favorite returning shows, so I hope they get it together and we get to learn about the older characters (all of them), then focus on the new characters.
Bionic Woman
In an attempt to ride the wave of Sci-Fi mystery dramas, NBC has decided to release a re-imagination of the classic series Bionic Woman, at first the show is tantalizing and brilliant, but that quickly fades when you realize that the acting is mediocre and there isn't any fun…many things have changed since the original sneak preview, gone is the deaf sister, which I believed would have saved the show from me mediocrity…the pilot episode moved at near lightening speed and left me scratching my head, if not for repeat viewing and the ability to re-watch certain scenes then this pilot would be getting an F, but I'll go ahead and give it a C- and hope that it redeems itself throughout the season.

ABC - Fall TV

PRIVATE PRACTICE
Ok, So I totally faded in and out of Private Practice because it seemed so far up it's own ass I couldn't keep my head on straight. Although the story was really good I couldn't help but feel that Addison, was out of her element, I mean a Surgeon at a Fertility Clinic that's just too weird. Story wise I love how they add the element that they might need Addison in case something like that were to happen again (a slim to none chance). Hopefully this show will redeem itself in the coming weeks. * Also where is Merrin Dungey?

GREY'S ANATOMY
To say that I was disappointed would be an overshot. I wish Shonda Rhimes wouldn't have rushed the whole Dr. Burke/Dr. Yang conclusion so early in the season (I personally would have waited for a few episodes, making the first episodes about the new Interns, then following the next one with a Meredith/Derek reconciliation, then went into the aforementioned Burke/Yang dilemma). Another thing I thought we'd get over is the Gizzy situation, come on lets put that to rest already, it was better as a drunken sexual desire, nothing more, a mistake, or at least make it that Izzy is just having depressing sex since she lost someone she loved. Good show, bad episode, everything was going at lightening speed.

UGLY BETTY
So far the only show to not disappoint, I loved every minute, the FAT Amanda, the possibility that B. Meade could be her father, the thought of incest, of it was all so brilliant, a primetime soap opera...it was so delicious and left me wanting more. All this show can do is keep topping itself, brilliant.

For the Planet!

Evan Rachel Wood is a Slut

Even though she totally ruined Manson and Dita's marriage, I love the movie and soundtrack Across the Universe...even though it's a rip off of Moulin Rogue! only with Beatles songs and a different concept...it's still a good movie...

Publicity Stunt or Lapse in Judgment

Vanessa Hudgens playgirl in the making.. it seems that the pictures were too set up to be ‘leaked’ so I’m gonna take a few stabs at what happened:
  • Hudgens was tired of the prim Disney lifestyle and figured she’d make a clean break and try and start somewhere else, as opposed to taking the Lindsey way out.
  • Zac Efron was tired of all the gay jokes or his gay following so he decided to place the picture on the internets himself.
  • Vanessa and Zac weren’t going to get the raise they so desperately wanted to stay in HSM 3 so the wanted to sabotage their chances or working on the movie.
  • Or simply the pictures were taken and just happened to make there way onto the internets (which is highly likely considering that these sorts of things happen.)
Well that’s all I have to say about that, I figured I’d stop bugging my brother about this and post it in my blog.
BTW: Look for the Efron scandal coming soon.

Team Kanye or Team 50

Ok, so I've been going over this over and over and over...I'm not the type of person to do things because they're big and/or popular but I couldn't resist...so I went out and purchased both Kanye West and 50 Cents CDs and I can honestly say neither of them are the next step in rap or a reinvention nor rejuvenation of the fledgling art form known as Hip-Hop, the only one to do so thus far is Nas with his aptly titled 'Hip Hop is Dead'…which judging from these two CD, if it isn’t it close…this brought up the question: Was 50’s said retirement a publicity stunt to boost his sales? I’m going to go ahead and say that it was and it didn’t work because her released a lackluster CD, Curtis is like an artists introduction into an artform...barely passable as someone’s third album, very sophomoric …I hope he can rebound with a mix tape or something… while on the other hand Kanye’s CD Graduation is not masterpiece but it’s more complete than 50’s…so there you go my, my thoughts on Kanye and 50 Cent…
